A little about me...
I was born in Argentina and moved to the United States when I was 10 years old. I grew up in Tampa and graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Psychology. A couple of years after graduating, I made my dreams a reality when I joined the friendly skies as a flight attendant, where I currently work out of New Jersey. After years of having been interested in nutrition, I decided to bridge my passion for health and helping others by becoming a Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
What brought me to where I am?
Growing up in Argentina, my plate was full of meat, refined carbs, refined sugar, lots of cheese, and very little vegetables. My parents were not familiar with the importance of feeding the body optimally and, a result, over my teenage years, I began to develop some health issues - high cholesterol at 13, along with bloating and constipation, which went on for many years. When I started college, extreme low energy was added to the list of ailments, to the point where I would have to take car naps in between college classes to be able to make it through the day.
In 2011, I watched a documentary on Netflix called Forks Over Knives and, shortly after, I walked into a Whole Foods where free weekly classes were being held empowering people with knowledge of a whole-food plant based diet (a diet based in fruits, veggies, tubers, whole grains, that minimizes or excludes meat, dairy products, and eggs, as well as highly refined foods. I became immersed in the topic - watching documentaries and reading as much as I could on it. What had the biggest impact on me was seeing the reversal of disease on people with chronic illnesses - they were getting off medications, dramatically reducing their cholesterol, and eradicating type 2 diabetes - all in a matter of weeks and through diet changes alone.
Although the huge number of health benefits associated with a whole-food plant based diet are what originally attracted me to this way of eating, I've learned over the years about the environmental impact of animal products and the animal cruelty involved behind them, which is what reinforces my decision to stay on this path. Once I adapted this lifestyle, I experienced a reversal of all my symptoms - I was able to wake up feeling vibrant and full of energy, my constipation disappeared, I improved my digestion, bettered my immunity, gained mental clarity, and attained a new outlook on life. My passion to guide others on their journey to optimal health found a home when I made the decision to become a holistic health coach. My intention is to empower others with the knowledge and support necessary to achieve their goals and desired life!
