We are what we eat - so the food going into our mouths becomes the cells that make up our body. Equally as important, it could also be said that what we feed ourselves in terms of thoughts and feelings has a significant impact on our health and well-being. Our body is a complex machine in which everything is interconnected. Maintaining balance in all areas of life constitutes health, which is why I practice a holistic approach to health - one that includes all aspects of your being - nutrition, physical activity, sleep, relationships, stress, creativity and spirituality.
When it comes to nutrition, focusing on calories, carbs, fats, protein, and individual vitamins and minerals will only create more confusion. Nutrition isn’t as complicated as we’ve been led to believe. Focusing on eating a variety of whole foods that are nutritionally dense will provide our bodies with the fuel needed to thrive.
